That isn't cool at all!
All they've done is downgrade their fuel delivery system!

downgrade from the original 2800 carbs? not really...
TBH, it all depends what you are trying to acheive...At high RPMs with non-standard cams andother engine internals a standard FI system doesn't necessarily offer any increased performance over carbs.
I know I ran my 2002 on 50DCOs adn it produced around the same power as Chris Randells' M10 engined E30 318 on FI....
Carbs are easier to work with and to tune as well as being a lot cheaper...I'd be interested in how he made the spark timing work, though...
If you follow his links and watch the dyno run it make 318bhp and 375nm of torque

The point I was making is that the S38 engine came from the factory with throttle body injection which are absolutely the logical choice for big cams, high rpms etc.

Carburettors belong on something made 40 years ago, not on an S38.

I only would see that working to a set of race regs; ie orginal block, head is free, no efi. Thats why i run carbs on the e21 as they are more tunable than k-jet but piss compared to ITB's

I also agree that its a backward step.
If the S38 had a different inlet manifold with a single throttle then fair enough but it doesn't and has a far better set up than the carbs.
Does sound good though, especially when it has these added.
