Hi guys

I've just sold my 325i Sport Convertible and am now in the market for an E21.

I've seen an E21 323i on ebay with an E30 325 conversion - does anybody know is there anything I should be wary of with a car that has had this done, is this a common conversion? will other parts of the car need to have been uprated?

I'm guessing insurance could be an issue, but aside from receipts for work and checking mileage of the donor engine I'm not sure what else to ask about this aspect of the car

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Paul

A very common conversion, I've bought two 323i's with this conversion alone. It's common because it's a very good bolt in upgrade, if it's done properly. With it being a 323i it will have all the extra "upgrades" already over the other lower E21s with rear disc brakes, rear ARB, vented front brakes, bigger front struts. Normally people just bolt them in, complete the wiring and go! I might advise an electric fan such as a kenlowe though.

Below are two conversion threads, I recommend you join that forum if you're into E21s.

Insurance could be an issue but I got a quote from Heritage recently and since the displacement jump was only 0.2L they weren't that fussed.
