Which engine did the 740i have? At which point/age/model did it change? Finaly was it only the m60 that had nikasil issues?
Thanks in advance.
740i, M60 or M62? Nikasil issues?

i think from 94-96 it had the m60 4.0. From 96 it was a m62 4.4. And from 98 or 99 it was the m62tu.
I think the m62 had nikasil. U dont have to worry about it anymore as nikasil engines have either been scraped or been replaced. Nikasil cars today have no problems as petrol these days have a low sulpher content.
Many zoners with this engine have no problems. Dont be put off by nikasil engines.

m62 did not have any nikasil issues, other than that blitz has summed it up quite nicely.
