cool because i find e30 zone the best forum 5.co.uk is ok but it can take days before anyone will answer a post! so maybe if we got a load of dedicated zoners to take part in a e34 only version it would be better for the zone too as there are alot of e34 posting on this section. would be nice to have as much knowlage as there is on the zone on a e34 site.

BMW5 does just fine for me - tbh I can't see much need for another new forum.

E28zone would be better
However I don't think you will be any better off than with the E34 section on bmw5 tbh. At least you get the readership from the other 5 series owners. tbh the E30zone is unique in the amount of interest it gets and speed of response (in BMW terms anyway). Sometimes a slower correct response can be better though ;)
However I am probably slightly biased

As if I would say such a thing Jon
The zone has been good to me over the years and has some extremely knowledgeable people on it. Made some good friends too.. I am not sure E34s have enough of a "scene". Maybe there is one to be created... I am not sure..

i think there is! personaly i think the e28 is the e30 of the 5 world but in time the e34 must have some big following as theres loads about and people are going for them who can not afford e30's and e28's like me. as you gaurenteed to get a better e34 for your money than a e28 or e30 is that fair to say, i think so. and imo an e34 behaves like a bigger e30.

That is true, there are some lovely bargain E34s around and you do generally get more for your money. But, I can only judge by the meets we have and E34s seem to always be in the least numbers (out of 28s 34s and 39s) So maybe they are in need of your zone !

Although mine's for sale, I'd join & "use" even when she's gone,
They're a great car with lots of potential & still good value.

why would you need to ask the admin here to start an e34 zone? do they have the rights to the word zone?

Anyway, While I do think e34s make brilliant day to day barges, there is no denying that they will never had anything close to the cult status the E30 has. I do certainly wafting about in the 530i when I get a chance, but I certainly don't think it has anything remotely resembling a "soul" (or whatever you personally call that X-Factor that makes a car feel special). Bargain bucket Daily workhorse? Maybe. A car to pour blood, sweat and tears into? Err, no.

I doubt anyone said he couldn't, more that the E30zone did not want to be affiliated with another "zone" branded forum.

Anyone can start and run any E**zone that they please, don't remember any talk about a e34zone before. As you say, the e30zone doesn't want to or need to associate itself with any other forums.

I may have been mistaken about the use of the name it was a while back when I had my E34's and I can't remember much but I do remember e30zone not wanting to be linked with it or the forum following same design etc
the domain name e34zone.net is currently available anyway

Hmmm...not so sure on that...Joshy wrote: Anyway, While I do think e34s make brilliant day to day barges, there is no denying that they will never had anything close to the cult status the E30 has. A E34 540/6 is a fanatstic and sought after machine, especially in touring guise, as are the M5s...
A 525i or 535i sport is also a nice and increasingly scarce car to find.
Of course everyone on *this* forum may well prefer the E30, but given the choice between a 320 4dr or a 525 M50 saloon for the same money?

I think its a bit of a shame that the E30zone doesn't expand a bit, I know that we've always been really focussed on one model but surely we could grow the "other bmw" forum into some E39,E36, E46 boards as well? I think vBulletin can do "Daughter boards" which are basically subforums, that could work quite well.

This place takes too much time & money for our super hero forum owners, why expand and run other forums 'we' aren't interested in?? My opinion any way!
This is also my opinion why the BMWCC site doesn't work. Just because I own and run a E30, do I rate / care about E36's / E46's / E90's etc
Keep it simple, it's hard enough for Steve / Daz??? to keep this place up to date and to modify / fix the forum. These guys have jobs / wives / kids / lives to get on with too!

I think that's the point - while the e30zone is excellent partly due to the sterling efforts of the admin and mods, it's existence relies on the number of enthusiasts for these particular cars. The fact is, at present, there simply aren't enough e34 enthusiasts to generate a zone-like level of traffic on a forum, no matter how well run it is. In time it will probably happen, though I personally can't see e34s generating the kind of following thate30s have, just as I can't see e30s becoming like minis or beetles or [insert cult car here].Ziggy wrote:BMW5 does just fine for me - tbh I can't see much need for another new forum.

I agree that this site is so good due to the fact that it is centred around e30's only. The other bmw forum caters fairly well for technical advice and discussions for other bmw's.
Perhaps the other bmw forum could be split into separate forums for e21, e28, e36, e34, e46, e39 etc etc?? To give it a bit more "substance"??

It will give it room to grow. A quick look shows so far on page 1 of "other bmw chat" there are 8 topics about e36's, 3 posts about e46's and one or two about e39's.Jhonno wrote:Why? There'd only be like 1 post in each forum..

Doesn't bother me either way. Just a suggestion.

E34zone sounds good to me as there are no real E34 forums out there - they're either within 5 Series forums or general BMW forums so I'm all for a dedicated one.
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

I would support an E34 forum tbh!
There arent so much information on the web about this spesific model from BMW - who by many BMW owners and fans world over quoted to be one of the best modern BMW ever made.
E30s are starting to be old, and in some few years, this forum will not be as active as it is now!
