BMW have gone mad
Moderator: martauto
I honestly don't see the point of it.
You've got the 5 series Touring if you need room. You've got the X5 if you want some off-road capability. You've got the X6 if you have too much money or want a weird looking BMW.
It just looks like a car without a market to me.

if you ask me (which most people don't) it don't look that bad & i will drive anything!
looks a lot better than some of the euro rot boxes that are coming out at the moment.
i'll keep my eye on this to see what happens with it.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Bmw went mad a long time ago

It's always the accountants and the sales dept. these days that call the shots. Cars are designed and built for maximum profit, design classics among 'everyday' cars are few and far between and compromissed by all kinds of limitations.hubble wrote:I personally blame the accountants and not the designersmadaboutthe30 wrote:Bmw went mad a long time ago
Not really sure about that BMW- looks kinda weird but then it's taken with a wide angle lens which does distort the body shape slightly. Jury out until proper pics are released. Stiill don't see the point of it though?

I kinda like it from some angles, the front end angles reminds me of a Volvo. Maybe pointless, but certainly a bit different...
Not in E30s any more

I quite like the C series Volvos. That's twice in one week I've declared a liking for these Swedish OAP wagonsAlex wrote:thats not a good thingthe front end angles reminds me of a Volvo![]()

They talk on that forum about the CS.

The reason that worked was it was still fundamentally a 4 door saloon. This 5GT is all wrong from the b pillar back. It just slopes to the back of the car. It should stop just short so there's some sembalnce of a boot lid. And a split tailgate doesnt work like that on a Range Rover Sport so quite why they think its a good idea on a large estate car
Like the Interior even if it does take a lot of cues from Audi and at last the centre stack angles towards the driver like it should.

Awesome looking car. I quite like Bangles work. I remember when the last two 5 series were previewed, I wasn't sure. Now I absolutely love it. BMW's seem to be styled in such a way that you grow to love the design. This will be another.
So what is it anyway, the other forum hints at a 5 series replacement?
