performance: e30 325i vs e39 525i facelift 2001 model - ???

hi all
sadly i wrote off my e30 325i. i never got hurt atall. only some headaches when dealing with insurance..lol

my new car is going to be a 2001 e39 525i. this is with the double vanos system. its either 184hp or 192hp. basically onpar with like a 1997 528i.
i see some sites quote its 0-100 as 7.8seconds some quote 0-100 of 8.0seconds.

i wanted a 530i..but sadly cannot afford to buy one.

straight line acceleration performance, how does the 525i compare to the e30 325i?
my 325i was stock standard.??

is the 5series going to be much slower? equal? faster?

probably around the same - the 528i goes really well - i had a lot of trouble passing it in a straight line on a track with a long straight in my stock 325i. i was a bit of a n00b though, but it certainly was not slow!!

I would say the E39 would be more lively as they have more torque at lower rev's,my 528i was much livelier than the E30 will ever be!

I take it you mean 0-100kph in 8 seconds
