I just bought a 540i as a daily driver
Its got every extra you could think of and a bargain price.
Does every 540i have stainless manifolds?
I'll put up some pics soon

Nope, auto. There was a manual one on ebay in Hove. I pestered the seller with messages but he didn't reply once so I left it. Auction ended with 0 bids.

I had one for a very short while. I regret selling it 100%. For the short time I had it, driving my normal week I spent the same cash fuel wise as the 2.5. It was the same insurance, and like yours had all the extra's. keep it.

The insurance is cheaper than for the e30

Nice.
I haven't picked it up yet, collecting it in the morning, I'll get some pics then. It's got electric rear headrests, how pointless is that

fully electric cream leather, cruise, a/c, telephone, tv and loads of other pointless gizmos.
Here's the link to the manual one:

I take it this is an e39? If so what did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking? PM me if you want to keep it quiet. I'm looking for an e39 as we speak.

Still a cool car. I drove an e34 auto touring back from Aldershot for a friend and it was a great car. I love 'em

Even if you do not give them much poke, classic cars still drink so much fuel.
Its nice to think about owning a classic, but in retrospec their fuel consumption is ridiculous compared to current standards, this is what always throws me from getting another classic.
But if you can afford it, enjoy it!

Nice, hope you enjoy!! Is it a potential engine donor for a 'proper' BMW?

If it is calypso red,I have a pair of good door mirrors, also a spare instrument cluster and a set of column stalks!!

Drove it home today 120miles. I put £40 in the tank, I now have 1/4 tank left. It obliterates my brothers 330ci on the motorway.
Nothing wrong with it that I can find so I'm pretty chuffed. If it was manual it would be awesome.

Oh and that is nice. Same colour as the 540 touring I drove. Natural coloured leather by any chance?
You know what? I sold my last e34 in 2003 to a guy up the road from me. It goes past my house fairly regular and it still looks great to this day in Diamond Black with dechrome and silver leather. I've driving home the other night and a Black e34 comes towards me. "F*ck me thats nice" I think. "really clean". wasn't till I saw the plate I realised it was my old one. I'd have it back tomorrow. Brought my new born baby daughter home in that car nearly 9 years ago now so it holds real memories for me.
Enjoy it Oakey. I'm really rather jealous.

If 'natural' means "beigey" then yes, dash etc is all the same colour. I have to say I am enjoying it, not quite as fun as the e30 but it makes up for it with the v8 noise
