how did it go mate??
wish id seen this yesterday before you went to go see it!!
i almost bought a 1998 728 but it wasnt the sport. on the ebay, it only went for £900 odd in the end but it looked mint/stunning.

only thing i can recommed is, look for electronics and everything electronic is working!!!
also check for nservice history as anybody who had a car should be able to afford to get it serviced by bmw, if not did they look after the car properly???

Worth checking everything electric works, and check again!

Pixels in the dash, coolant problems, overheating, water pumps have plastic impellars, can snap off and cause overheating.

Steptronic auto pulls away in 2nd,dont think its broken, its supposed to do that, worth checking the manual function too, nearly all will be auto,so worth knowing.

Surprising good on fuel too,for a big old bus.

hope that helps.
