pipes on bottom of air box 95 m50b20? can i block them off?

hi

my partner bought a 95 520i and its got no air filter in it but i have a induction kit i can stick on it till i get a new panel filter but theres 2 pipes on the bottom of the air box that go to a valve on it which go to the tb and icv i think so my question is what can i do with these pipes while im using the cone filter?

i would appreciate some help asap as its getting rather cold out lol! :mad:

had another look and i think one pipe comes from the top of the block and the other from the throttle body.

for now i have joines them together but can someone tell me if that will be ok?

If these pipes are what I think they are, they are coolant pipes for the throttle body heater, and the 'valve' in the air box is a thermostat.
The simplest thing to do would have been to just unbolt the 'stat and cable tie it to something nearby.
It sounds like you've taken the 'stat out of the circuit, leaving the TB heater permanently on. This will cause a minute decrease in power, but cause no other problems.
