right, i was under the impression that Estoril blue was a pretty new colour by BMW? but i found this site http://www.e-24.ru/eng/theory/colors/gallery/ and on their if you scroll down you will find a picture of an e24 labeled estoril blue. . . obviously it looks different to the modern day one, im sure its not metallic either.

but is this correct? did the e24 come in estoril blue? or is this a mistake?

please clear this up for me!

Most manufacturers recycle their colour names.
For instance, Ford had a Citrine yellow back in the days of the Anglia. They used the same name on a different shade of yellow on the mk1 Mondeo Si.
Only way of differentiating is the colour codes.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

More than likely, but I don't know what colours the E24 came in.
BTW, There are at least 2 different shades of Diamond black on E30's. A friend had an '86 Sport that was a lot darker than my '90 Touring.

That Estoril e24 is a U.S. car. I reckon Estoril Blue was an emaeican colour only on the e24 and it's different to the estoril we know from the e36. Don't think it was available on the e24 in this country. I've certainly never seen one.
