No probs Dave, I should have chatted to loads of zoners but missed most... had a chinwag with a few though... stunning display of motors as alwaysd6dph wrote:Very nice indeed Mark. Sorry I couldn't chat for longer on sunday.
I was watching them on ebay I think Jon if they are the same ones... but having spent quite a lot those 42s popped up with decent Michelin rubber for £250 so were hard to pass up !jonb wrote:Thats stunning mark. Lovely colour also....
If anyone wants a set of those split rims i have a set. 8 x 17 With excellent tyres.
Main thing is rust with these cars, particulary front wings, floorpan, rear axle hanger areas, jacking points, sills etc. See this thread for a car that looks shiny but is quite badly rusty.cuzz1510 wrote:A beautiful motor there mate.
I'v been looking at getting one of these for a while now.have you got any tips on what to look out for?
Also,a bit of a cheeky one...How much did that cost and did you do any restoration?

Mechanically same as any old BMW, M30 is strong if looked after and look out for shagged bushes, shagged drivetrain components etc. Did I mention rust.
Mine is good in pictures but certainly not perfect, has a few dents and scratches and had several panels repainted on the cheap so I will shell out for a good quality glass out respray some time, but it is rust free. I will never get my money back though as they do not fetch alot.
1-2k gets you an ok car 3-4 gets a mint sub 100k car. But there are alot of crap ones out there. If you want an E28 talk to Pacerpete who had a nice 528i to sell (if he still has it).
Cheers Dave, long time no see mate. Hows the job going and things ? Still got the Maclaren Civic ?Davenotouring wrote:Wow! Mark, that is looking very smart.
