I never knew such a thing existed.

Anybody got any experience of one of these?

115 bhp turd, might do 30 mpg average and wouldn't pull your foreskin back. They use a four speed auto (basically a 318i GM box) and are a very big bill waiting to happen. Okay for £300 with a long MOT but not a bean more. Only makes sense if you run it on a 50/50 mix of veg oil and red.

Yes go for the 525TDS (turbo intercooled jobby)

Great fun in the wet when the Turbo kicked in :D :D Plus it got 45 to the gallon on the motorway

Yep, they do exist but you'll be hard pushed to find a decent one, and most sound like tractors

If you can find a decent tds then great, if not then the M50 192bhp 525 is the way to go  (wouldn't mind another one myself)
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....
