could someone please tell me what the valve clearances are on 1986 bmw m535.

Wrong section, try technical next time.
While i am here, M30 clearances .35mm or 014" in old money , hot, for best results. Check the 12mm oil spray bar bolts while you are in there

sorry mate, just thought because its not and e30 and all....
