Seen a cheap 'project' and was wondering if they are any good?

Will a M20B25 fit??

Who rattled your cage then.I've owned 4 over the years ,they are a delight to drive . Light weight ,fantastic visibility and easy to work on. they do rust like f**k.My golf yellow tii will hopefully be on the road again next year.[Like it's sad horrible leaky smelly old turd owner.] :D

Quite true. The engine of choice is the s14[4 cyl m3] same block as the old m10 in the 2002.Lots on american sites.Make your own M2. :drool:

Thats a LONG way off an std 2002!

The M20's wont fit. The engine bays are tiny. You can get the S14 and the M42 in there though.

The M20 does fit. I don't know how much modification is needed, but I've seen it done by an ex-employee of Jeff Ireland. Had a 3l stroker in as well

bulkhead and transmission tunnel need a bit of re modelling to say the least

Some guys cut the front panel as well but it is not needed if you do the tunnel right
