Did bmw ever produce these. I have seen 1.8, 2.0, 2.5, 4.0 and the rare m5. Im after A touring at the moment and from what I read from you fella's the M50 2.5 is the engine to go for? But I'm half tempted to get a E34 535i sport but need the boot space so its got to be a touring.

I have seen a 525ix going dirt cheap. or should I just stick to rear wheel drive. Never owned a 4wd before.
Cheers Sean.

A 535i Touring would have been a great car. Nothing you can't make though. Get a 520i Touring (low final drive and no self levelling) and drop the 3.5 engine, box and prop in, add some decent springs and shocks and off you go.

ix are supposedly rather complicated things, always fancied getting one and sticking a 3.5 in it, but try finding spares for one...

Thinking a M50 2.5 would be a better bet now a days than a M30 3.5 in a E34?

Would a 1993 525i have a M20 or M50 block?
Cheers Sean.

Yep, the M20 and M30 were discontinued before the touring came outStuBeeDoo wrote:IIRC the E34 Touring never came with the M20.
A 540 touring on LPG would be a nice beast
