Did bmw ever produce these. I have seen 1.8, 2.0, 2.5, 4.0 and the rare m5. Im after A touring at the moment and from what I read from you fella's the M50 2.5 is the engine to go for? But I'm half tempted to get a E34 535i sport but need the boot space so its got to be a touring.

I have seen a 525ix going dirt cheap. or should I just stick to rear wheel drive. Never owned a 4wd before.
Cheers Sean.

A 535i Touring would have been a great car. Nothing you can't make though. Get a 520i Touring (low final drive and no self levelling) and drop the 3.5 engine, box and prop in, add some decent springs and shocks and off you go. :D

ix are supposedly rather complicated things, always fancied getting one and sticking a 3.5 in it, but try finding spares for one...
E34 x 1 - V8 + lots of CF
E30 x 2 - Tourings (1 x M50, 1 x M40)
RS6 C5 - Stage 1 remap - 500bhp

Thinking a M50 2.5 would be a better bet now a days than a M30 3.5 in a E34?

Would a 1993 525i have a M20 or M50 block?
Cheers Sean.

IIRC the E34 Touring never came with the M20.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Yep, the M20 and M30 were discontinued before the touring came out

A 540 touring on LPG would be a nice beast
