Early e36s aren't paricularly well built, they can rust quite badly too so check for that. Check for nackered suspension arms and bushes too if you can. There are some tidy ones still around, they handle really well in totally different way to the e30. Great engine.

I sold my 325i tourer E30 and bought a 328i touer E36. I'm now thinking of selling the E36 and buying another E30 as I felt the E30 is a much better drive.

A 1992 325i is probably going to be a scrapper - non vanos, shagged rear arches, dodgy early type window motors. 1992 cars have the early big top mounts so replacement shocks are £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£. It would need to be very clean and under £500 to be worthwhile.

Was neither clean or under £500, so left it to rot.

My mate had a similar car, but a 320 and he only managed to get £400 for it with a full MOT. Now consider that it would be worth £150 to the scrap man and you see how little the first E36's are worth. I told him he would have been better off scrapping it than putting it through an MOT.
