Yeah Dan i picked up a 6 speed from an evo cab along with the propshaft and the front brakes. I've got the struts with the top mounts i won't be using.
Theres a clever guy over on e36 coupe forum who did a 6 speed conversion on his 328i sport. If you get this 6 bolt flange then it saves you the drama of bolting the whole evo rear axle in.
I'm pretty sure the way i'm doing is how alpina did it from their factory looking at the alpina etk i have.
i did the max speeds in each gear with each diff on page 2. over 70mph in 2nd!
