Quite the opposite! Many people on here have or have owned them and have many good things to say about them.
Anyone who says they are crap is a retard.

Nice, apart from the matt skirts.
The B8 a bit further down is tasty too. Love the aerial on the rear wing..!

i'll tell you now if he tries to p!ss me about like last time he can really have it, as i was biting my tongue last time from all the sales tripe/games.
Oh it is a 6 speed box for these, looks the same as the evo one. I think fag-tronic for daily use ideal. It will still be fast

Must be the same as the Evo box then. A five speed ZF will be fine though. You have all the parts!

I'd keep the fagtronic, just manual it, if it goes pear shaped.

I wouldnt have it any other way! Cog swapping is for peasants, especially in big old busses

Cog swapping is for heros!
I could understand if Si lived in central London but he doesn't.
The fagtronic will melt after a few hot laps of the Ring Simon......

No.1 hope is the block is ok we can sort the rest! I'm going on holiday 2moro for 8 nights so i shall pick it up after. Hes offered his trade plates to drive it back as it only has MOT on it.
So we're a 3 alpina household now

The single vanos on M52's are the easiest type to work on. Very simple.
You can borrow the tools when you need them.

If you have far to go then I'd think twice about towing an Auto mate

Re head gasket towing home, the trader guy has driven it a few times as it is! not far but no further than i'm going to. Can't kill it anymore than it is already either way! I'm not getting a tow truck to pull it across from one side of town to the other!

I'd sooner drive it the couple of miles in an evening! Can't see that being an issue, long as it has water!

Nice work Herr Dreizehn.
I'd hang onto that unused 2.0 M50 - mint front covers, as new bearing shells and metal gaskets and oil seals, nuts, bolts and studs, oil pump, water pump etc.
