Nice looking motor though. Sure it'll be worth it in the end, if you ever get there.

Surely since you've come this far you will be changing those? And get the Duraglit out on the brassy bits?

It's insured yes?

Hey drag it away from the front of the garage for God's sake 8O

back together and ready for its MOT 2moro!

I've stuck some ali E30 arms on it for good measure as they've been in the garage collecting dust. Changed the rubber boots for gooduns and binned the sh!te E36 effort arms. Some eccentric lolipop bushes and new drops links as they were shagged.

What a transformation! I'm sure the very recent new bilsteins from the last owner help also. Its a much nicer to drive now and feels sharp, handbrake is good, brakelines peachy! Changed the fluid with some ATE superblue.

So in short its driving like a nice car now i quite like it. It better pass so i can rack up some milege on the turd

Simon, same Guy?
If so how can he miss something? Sounds incompetent to me. Does he need reporting to the ministry?

one of the bolts which holds the struts to the hub as such has sheared the bolt head. I noticed it but thought it must be ok as you would. I'm not MOT tester

It must of happened when the shocks were changed. So the weather forecast is heavy rain all day 2moro and i'm packing my tool box for another trip to the breakers!

i can't post what i really think but my old man chucks them around 20 MOTs a year and they're well. They know i'll sort any problems.

Frustrated to say the least. I never go down there i give the car to my old man and he takes it in to work as they are opposite his workshop

MOT tester sounds like a bit of a clown, you best remember my newly found old car friendly MOT dude, with a car as new as an E36 he probably would have just issued a ticket over the phone.

i hear you steve, i've had it before when they nit picked at PYF in the past. A tatty looking but mechanically good car. I remember saying to my missus f**k it no more going there but i'm loathed to pay for another test else where as i'm fed up for A) buying a lemon B) spending more money on it!

My dad said today it drives nicely and it brakes well!. I blew my lid!

Si, if it's the same tester he's incompetent. If there's a second tester the first one's incompetent!
These guys are supposed to be professional, it's what they do. Sure they're fallable but there has to be a compromise. Speak to the Boss see if there's any leaway for you.
If not, sort it out get the OK then report the B@$£%&@s to the ministry and don't go back again! especially as you have had a problem with them in the past.

same tester both times, i knew it would fail the first time as i chucked it in anyway with the screen cracked just to see what else was wrong with it. I'm just pissed something has been missed and found this time and thinking last night right its up together lets get going and i get a phone call @ 9am.

I know its only a car but i don't like spending my entire life fixing playing about with them!

I shall have a word don't worry on that

down the scrappy in the rain and £15 later and a hub was removed from a anus blue 318ti compact. Had a very nice blue/black interior

All fitted i also chawed the handbrake one side as the handbrake was binding for some reason. Probably the use of E30 parts wasn't quite right! i think the e30 springs in the drum are slightly too long and don't pull the shoes tight enough when the handbrake is realised. I only used them as the e36 ones were snapped originally. Teach me to bodge! Always easier to be proper!

So ready for round 3. Surely this time it will pass!
