E36 M3. What are they like to live with?
Moderator: martauto
Ah ha, that's good to know. Maybe they get hidden down the seat cusion gap. Didn't know my compact had a centre belt till I'd had it a couple of months and decided to pull up the rear seat base!

E36 M3 is lighter and smaller (obviously) than the E34 and has rack and pinion steering and a more advanced rear suspension set-up...Blitz wrote:How does the E36 M3 compare to the E34 M5 as there the same kind of price range.
286bhp in the M3 (320bhp ish in the EVO, allegedly) against 315bhp in the 3.6 M5 and 340bhp in the 3.8
But the E34 is a proper hand-built car in (relatively) small numbers...The E36 was a mass-produced car.
That is also the reason the E30 M3 is worth more...There are simply less of them around...lots were raced and written off or have just suffered from abuse and neglect over time
Don't forget the E28 M5, too...also hand built, around the same weight as the E36 M3 and 285bhp, too (M88 motor)...Only 187 RHD ones, though
1987 Henna Rot M3 (was 195bhp CAT..now more and no cat)

I have a 3.6 M5 clutch in my e36, light as a feather, still has the on off feel, but I quite like that.hubble wrote:Driven the E39 M5 but not an E36 M3.
I can't remember the clutch on that - only the biggest smile....and the sound of the V8 of course....
One of life's little pleasures.
As said the braided line does make quite a difference, over time the rubber pipe looses it strength.

Hmm, I am on e36coupe, have been for years, i don't know of that car, in fact the only person i know of who was/is building a wide body ACS type car is John, he hasn't ever owned a GT. You sure its not my car that you mean? I have owned it for a fair while. Its certainly the only GT with this rim colour that's been on e36coupe. There were photoshops of this car on that forum at least 2 years ago.

Its Chris K, years since I have been on their but here is a pic of his GT:

He wasn't building the Schnitzer he bought one of the kevlar winged wide bodied ones in Daytona violet. this is a link to the thread when he got it:

Seeing is believing eh? I am thinking that I may have been around the E36 scene a bit longer than you as I had my first GT over 10 years ago.

I managed to source two sets of the trunk kit wing extenders from the US LTW cars, these came with the proper LHD GT's (rather than the silhouette ones we got). I still have a set of these:
