No it's not. It's an all new engine. Basically rthe v10 with two cylinders lopped off.

yeah my bad, got confused, knew it was based on an m5 lump, but for some reason was thinking the old one

It will sell really well BUT BMW are restricting supply, so order one now £500 down and you might get one in Sept 2008, Bridgegate derby have 44 pre orders and only 23 cars arriving this year..
with a little que jumping the earliest I can get one is March next year.. BMW want to keep the resale value and demand high.
