E12 M535 is a true hero chariot , albeit usually a rusty and worthless one, all other e12s are pointless.

Nonsense. I feel that a rotten T plate 525 auto is a worthwhile and fullfilling* restoration project

Bl**dy hell. That was almost a complement Pete...
Rusty maybe, but the pics suggest that's been removed. Worthless, not if it's a M535, agreed the standard turds are worth less than a pot of Haagen Daaz.
And Jimerilo, tell your dad to keep it...

Sad but true but E12 535s are virtually worthless , ask anyone who has tried to sell one !
Yes i am a true fan, i have owned 5 over the years and have many fond memories of hairy opposite lock moments and off road excursions !

Think saying they're virtually worthless is a bit unfair, but I totally agree that finding someone to part with money for one is practically impossible.pacerpete wrote:Sad but true but E12 535s are virtually worthless , ask anyone who has tried to sell one !![]()

I had my 528i sideways on several occasions, I loved the way that thing went - then at 21, my friends had mk2 escorts and Astras... Nothing touched it.
Ah, the memories...

Agree that all E12 apart from the M535 are worth very little but surely a clean un rotten M535 should be appreciating/sought after by now?

We're all agreed on that James, as I said though, it's not WHAT it's worth, it's how much you can get someone to PAY for it. You'd have to find the right source to advertise it, if your dad's determined to sell.jimerilo wrote:Agree that all E12 apart from the M535 are worth very little but surely a clean un rotten M535 should be appreciating/sought after by now?

You need someone like myself or Pete with the brains to know what it is and how good it is, combined with the money to buy it. Dunno about Pete, but I don't have the money, shame though it is. If my numbers come up tomorrow night though, I'll have it.
Cheers

couldn't agree with you more mate
One thing my dad would like to do to it before he makes his mind up about whether to sell it is to fit some period alpina wheels, i would be very greatful for any info/pictures regarding size( 14"/15"/16" ) that was correct for this model.

Standard wheels on M535is was 14" as you obviously know. According to the net, Alpinas run on 16s with 225/50 rear and 205/55 front.

No problem pal.
Good luck persuading your dad to keep it.
Tell him it's worthless and he won't get anything for it if he does sell it...
