I'm just putting a new radiator into a 1998 R reg 2.8. Only BMW sell these at around £230, no Nissens or aftermarket versions and the rad is unique to these cars. It's an early single Vanos one and an E36 328i rad is going in. £60 from Nissens, a small difference.

For some reason, Z3 2.8's have a radiator with a seperate expansion tank, unlike the 1.9 that has a standard E36 rad. The 328i rad with expansion tank seems to sit in the mounts and the fan shroud fits to the E36 rad perfectly. It involves a couple of E36 hoses and it'll be up and running in an hour. I made my £400 bid but she declined and got me to fix it, the bitch. :D

Edit: It's bloody tight to the airbox though - looks like an E36 one is going on.

All done. Had to splice an E36 expansion tank hose into the Z3 one, and the rad clears the air filter box. Why the fuck did they go to the expense of having a different rad? :?

My wife has a late 2.2 and absolutely loves it. I have to admit that I think it's a lot of fun for the money.

Tbh the whole rear axle is different even the beam is because it's got exhaust hangers on it, rear ARB is unique and a common upgrade for compacts etc

(I'd actually quite like this car.)

Ben only washes his hair once a month mate.
That "hairdresser" image seems to be a phobia with him. :)

The car was really tidy mate, but the section of the boot floor which carries the diff was starting to separate from the rest of the floor

Will do some research on the matter and go back with another offer, the owner was not aware of the problem and is proper gutted, he himself is gonna look into it.

I am shortly going to sell my E30 and the E28 can go as well.

Applies to all z3 but mainly z3m ones obviously due to the power increase over a 1.9 for example, z3 use e30 diffs, z4 rear axle is similar to an e46 m3 but I don't think they suffer the same as the m 3 as regards to the boot floor pulling
