I had an E46 330i Sport Touring for 8 months.
Liked 3.0 engine, massive spec.
Disliked £1500 depreciation in 8 months
20mpg fuel consumption with already mental and steadily increasing fuel prices makes no sense.
If you get one where everything works, no rust issues and all the preventative jobs have been done plus you can afford the fuel they're a good car - I wouldnt have another one until its done all its depreciation though.

320d dual mass flywheel from BMW - £1065 with VAT.
Our turd is going to need a clutch soon. Not slipping as yet but very heavy and high biting point so slippage will be next.
Also needs a new MAF as it's doing around 33 mpg and is a bit flat. Yoiu can clear the MAF fault code and it'll go well for about 5 miles. Re-read the codes and it's popped up again. On a long 70 mph motorway run on cruise I got it up to 42 mpg. New MAF is around £150.
Still want a diesel?

I have a 320d, its bullet proof, the poor thing has been remapped to 211hp, original factory turbo and is used as a tow car for the track turd, apart from rust on the front wings and the BM54 loosing some speakers Ive had no other issues.
Does around £70 of diesel towing to the ring each way.

Best diesel on the market for the money, you lot need to drive some modern turds so realise how nice the N47TU really is.
