One of my good friends got badgered by his mrs into buying a brand new Sportage in white.

I have driven it. What a bland nothing car.

But then the sort of people that buy them are bland nothing people i would hazard to guess.

by the way random fact, the Kia Optima has taken a 25% market share away from BMW over in the states :D
25%, and thats obviously down to the way the kia drives.

1, yanks dont know what a good drivers car is, they still use leaf springs FFS
2, they are in a far more serious rescission than we are and their middle classes who aspire to drive a bmw can not afford it

and that 25% ( if true ) its taken sales from not just bmw, but Audi/MB and others too
Talk to any yank and they will tell you anyone driving a BMW is doing EXTREMELY well as premium vehicles in the US come with high levys and taxes.

Last time I was over there the amount of Hyundai and Kia 'wannabe' cars was huge- and they were all plastic fantastics.

Regardless of brand preference etc there is still a huge difference in lower to upper quality and if you have choice, surely you go for the best you can afford?

I wouldnt opt for a cheaper brand as, if we as a family, have the unthinkable happen, we want to walk away, not be extracted by emergency services. Talk to anyone who works in A&E and get them to point out which incoming cases travel in which brand of car....

err I think your the one with blinkers on mate, I like nice stuff like BMW's, Merc etc, but after working for them i also realize that Kia are actually a good car which i would never have thought without knowing what i know now.

you sir are a brand snob and well and truely wearing blinkers and a blind fold
a kia serves a purpose so some people, not me. they may be a good car but they do not have the build quality of german cars. that is a fact. some of my family in cyprus drive korean cars. they all bought them new because they seem on paper a good car. 3 years into ownership while the cars have been reliable they are not ageing well. the trim inside feels nasty and cheap and falls apart. they drive very poorly and are bland

i've had my fair share or cars over the years and it only takes spending a few hours or couple of days in another car and i want to get back in a BMW. BMW have a certain DNA in them that suits me and lots of others

i'm certainly not a brand snob, i just like a quality product and will pay a premium for it but i'll quite happily wear mataland underpants as they perfect for my skids and wind passing.
if Kia made underpants, i'd wear them

comparing a kia to bmw is like comparing a claude valentini watch to an omega

one is a pretender where as the other is a quality product

Never underestimate how dumb the public are. Take a look at what the most watched TV programmes are - that's how stupid and easily pleased your average Brit really is.

There's a 54 plate Picanto dumped on the A617 near me with a Police Aware sticker on it. Warranty expired, worthless junk.

The fact you get almost as many people voting on reality TV shows as you do in a general election shows how fucked up this country is and what's more important to them.
