It had ASC and an open diff is this right?
wouldn't surprise me if he rang or text in a week or 2 saying do i still want it.
Yes, ASC is right. I've a feeling the 3.0 had an LSD, but the 3.2 had ASC+T.

i think its only really £1600-1800 as it is, total history lots of big receipts although most of it was munich legends stuff.
It had in 2006 the whole car painted bar the roof, with a brand new tailgate and front spoiler for £3500. service book is there confirming its pinaness but it got a load of advisories on the MOT which i noticed when looking underneath. Brake and fuel lines, plus hoses, discs are hammered all round and the pads are low, it needs a 02 sensor plus the engine.
The A/C wouldn't work and i couldn't see the compressor kicking in or the helper fan. The heated seats didn't work and i thought theres ££££ to spend to sort this car with all your time too for a 190,000 alpina that this guy thinks is a cream pie because the interior is nice and its shiney!

None of it is truely sad news..
O2 sensor.. £44 I believe for OEM one, from my local Motorfactors (if they use M52 ones..)
Air-con - none work, could be an easy fix, if not, don't cry about it.
Discs and pads std 328i?
I still think she is worth saving as an epic daily chariot!

You have to be careful here. For the car to be worth any money in the future due to it's rareness, everything has to work and it needs to be spot on.
If you buy it, you need to factor the above in. And at the end of the day, it's still done 190k. That alone says to me it'll never be worth top money.
Therefore you are at risk of buying it at a premium because it is what it is, and then blowing a fortune to put it right, only to still end up with a leggy example. If you buy it and then only do the basics to get a daily runner, it's worth even less.
And we've all seen how much Aplina spec head gaskets are alone!!!
It'd have to be really cheap to make it worthwhile. And if he's wanting +£2k, the chances are it'll be a long time before it's cheap enough to consider IMO.

I loved the touring Si. Ok i loved it on the inside, as i felt like poo.
Used and abused looked great against all the polished turd's on Sunday.
Especially Barry's replica with a dyno graph from the manifold. Who makes it?

i'm not too hung up on the milege but he wants too much money for it.
The e30 wagon was a going concern, i think i changed the passenger front wheel bearing, rear top mounts and the oil and we drove it for 6 months as was and it did a 14.9 up santa pod. This thing couldn't do 14.9 minute 1/4 miles and has more oil in the header tank than the sump and he wants just too much for it.

Boybimmers mate Mark who we both know was the guy who was roped in to fixing this and knows the trader quite well. Might see if he can talk this guy out of dreamland and that selling it off cheaper rather than being buried in it is a wise idea!
Apparantly he wanted £6500 for it when it was a going concern!

That is a smart looking chariot, always liked the E36 touring.
