Relax, I'm not offended by anyone here. You're allowed to post your opinions, but if it is of the sort posted earlier in this thread I'm just going to ignore it. I think it's fun to actually have a car I can have some fun with, compared to my E30 which has costed me around 16.000£ to this date and is nowhere near finished.

I'm going with a german war theme (No, not Nazi) at this moment, which I think will look rad when finished. I'll post some pictures when I'm done painting the main "picture".

How about Trailered Trash as a name.

I was thinking about putting an Iron Cross on the bonnet of my car, but thought better of it.

Can some photoshop legend do us an E36 in Richthofen Red with triple rear wing action and twin machine guns either side of the (propellor!) badge on the bonnet? That might be kinda cool! :D

Indeed it does, indeed it does. Will be some random war themes in there as well, but nothing that mixes too much with non-german I hope. I'm covering the whole car in dirty used oil tomorrow, then it'll sit and dry to get the 'black rust' effect.

Thing I always liked about Rusty was that they'd actually been quite clever in the build. Before they chopped the roof off, they braced the whole thing so it wouldn't sag. The suspension mounts were all relocated and strengthed to cope with the air ride. Loved the aircraft style dash board too. The Turbo engine was done properly too.

Was never super keen on the rear arch extensions. Too big, so it made it look unbalanced to my eyes.

But more than all that, it was original. And in a sea of modified cars where the standard things are wheels, suspension, exhaust, interior it was great to see someone go all out. 8)

Seems I forgot to keep you updated on how the car was going, haha. I scrapped it yesterday now, so no more Panzerwagon V1.

Did some random paintjobs with a heavy theme on it a while back.

First edition of the flag, hand painted by moi on free hand.

Crashed into a BMW E39, oh how unfortunate.

But Panzerwagon could never be truly defeated, so he was reborn again with a new headlamp and a modified E30 fender on the left side.

Goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend. The flags were cut off the door for keeps.

I'm now working on a E30 324d, completely rust welded, new brakes, popped fender flares in the rear etc. :)

I remember the original rat-look.. in about 97 I repaired my crappy manta with a new door and bonnet and the colours didn't match.. I painted it satin black and spent the bodywork money on wheels instead.. it looked ok at the time, I think all this copycat making it rust crap is old hat.. can't you think of something else to do which is a bit more original.. esp when slammington was the absolute nuts.. it's done! an old surfboard etc would have been great about 5 years ago but again, trying too hard..

also, asking people on a forum for ideas on your car is poor at best, if you can't think of it for yourself then you shouldn't be doing it.. (it's akin to the 'what colour' and 'what wheels' threads of yore, get what you think looks good!)

apart from that, good luck with the old girl! :D

dude awesome. yes it has been done before but ive only ever seen one rust look car actually on the road. its ok trawling through the net and finding bucketloads of pictures and saying 'its been done', so has every other trick in the book if youre going down that route. im sure that there are lots of e30 pictures with shiny bbs wheels and shiny 'repaired' dashes, and lots of other 'shiny' fookin pointless bits, all of which have been done before

good luck to you. try trampdrift if you want real abuse, i think youll find that e30 zone nastiness at its hardest is about 90% mild of what youll get from those guys - and thats even if they like your car lol!!! :D

Haha, chill out Tom, this was just a funny phase car. It was never supposed to be any cool or mind blowing for that matter, but I learnt to love the car for what it was, I gained hundreds of fun hours in that car and I'll always remember it, as the flags from the doors were cut off and they are now on my wall as photographs. I am just hooked on the German state flag and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm nowhere near close to having the economy to building my track E30 yet, but I'm already planning how it'll look, and I think you'll enjoy it by the time I start that project.

As for the E30 324d, it's going to be a daily beater or just a fix and sell car. The reason for the popped flares in the rear is rust, so I had to cut the original flare out and I've already welded in two new ones on my "good" car, and that was a pain in the ass (the filling, the grinding, the perfection that needed to be done to get it even remotely original looking) so I chose the easy and what I'd call the cool way out.

Haha, trampdrift does not sound like a place for me, I respect people for what they do and stand for, people who shares their cars online, even if it's been done before or frowned upon.

sweep, I'd buy that car of yours instantly, I had to pay around £800 for the E36 and £500 for the E30 and man, I pay way to much for rusty cars that doesn't drive. :D

I'll throw up a thread on my diesel later tonight, check it out if you'd like. :)

sh*t if I'd have listened to anyone on a stupid forum about any of the fun cars I've owned over the years I'd have never got anything done! I satin blacked a 1978 trans-am when I was 19.. the original tramp!
cars are for having fun in.. not some kind of forum lifestyle thing.. thats why I hate a lot of the knobs on 'stanceworks'.. half of them are there for the wrong reasons.. we're all petrolheads at the end of the day.. :D

but it should be your car.. go look for inspiration and then get in the garage and get on it.. build a car for you rather than asking other people what they think! :)

Ah, that's Ståle's beater car, haha. You will not believe the amount of rust that car had in bearing structures before it was scrapped. But one hella cool rat look for sure.
