I've come across this 3 month warranty issue before - usually when I've screwed a trader right down on a price - they say that its a "trade sale" ( even though I'm not in the motor trade ) and as such the car is sold as seen without warranty. To be fair its only been on sub £1k shitters that I would buy a car from a trader on this basis.
I had to pay the asking price for my recent E36 touring purchase - the dealer wouldn't even knock £50 off the price - but the 3 month warranty which was included turned out to be worth the best part of £500 when they had to have it back to sort out cooling system issues

I have my 328 sport cab for sale in better nik and full bmw history same extras and then some more. 4k with the hard o/e top too.
