It is nice. Beige leatherz are seriously executive but not MTF like black or anthracite velourz.bss325i wrote:Andrew don't be so mean!![]()

Looks nice!E30BeemerLad wrote:OK, here's a couple of pics of the new whip. It almost seems to have been a pointless exercise making all the effort to buy a car with proper bodywork when it has already earned about 5 or 6 scratches and nicks on the paintwork from car parks etc.
Poor old Golf, parked up the driveway now, but it will hopefully get some attention soon.

Ipod cable?capri_rob wrote:You done the Ipod cable yet ? I want to do this on mine but really dont fancy trying to take the dash to bits without damaging it to get the head unit out

I take it you dont have Nav either?capri_rob wrote:You done the Ipod cable yet ? I want to do this on mine but really dont fancy trying to take the dash to bits without damaging it to get the head unit out

there's a 3.5mm aux in on the back of the E46 busines HU?bss325i wrote:I take it you dont have Nav either?capri_rob wrote:You done the Ipod cable yet ? I want to do this on mine but really dont fancy trying to take the dash to bits without damaging it to get the head unit out
Head Unit removal is very straight forward on E46's without Nav.
Use a plastic trim tool to remove the two dash trims, (wood/silver/carbon cube etc) starting with the one above the glove box then the one around the HU.
This will reveal the screws holding the HU in and once these are released, the HU slides out.
Ipod cable plugs in the back.
I assume you want to route the cable to the glove box? Complete glove box is held in with cross head screws, open the glove box and you can see them all.

I believe you disconnect the CD changer and plug it in there - no 3.5mm socket as far as I know.e301988325i wrote:there's a 3.5mm aux in on the back of the E46 busines HU?bss325i wrote:I take it you dont have Nav either?capri_rob wrote:You done the Ipod cable yet ? Of course it's not that easy and I've got the tape deck as well, Why were BMW fitting tape decks in 2002, can people that are rich enough to buy new BMW's not afford CD's???

Ask Dan - he's done it twice on my turd in the last couple of monthsE30BeemerLad wrote:How much chew is it to change the thermostat on these turds?
I have barely lifted the bonnet on it since I got it. Does the fan shroud need to be removed to get access?

I have changed plenty M54 water pumps where the centre bearing has fallen to bits.Andyboy wrote:Idlers go again if you pick out the seals and regrease them. E46's have the black plastic impeller pump and these seem to last forever.
