I remeber working mine out at approx £220 a month, which is roughly what you'd pay to buy a brand new corsa before paying ins/tax and petrol.

I know what i'd rather have!

I just sold my '88 325iSE, and after a year's pleasurable use of it, got back practically all the money I put into it (except the petrol/insurance/tax) 8)

I think my prices were bumped up by a BMW garage service, and the amount I've spent on parts!

Just this year I've bought 4 tyres at £50 each and a new battery.

I don't plan to ever sell it either, so I put that I'd get back what I sold it for (which I could right noew if I broke it for parts!)

£40 a week on petrol, and so far spent £300 on replacing knackered parts.
Returned after many years out.

Not an e30, but gives you some comparison. Audi 100 s4:

A year: £ 2140
A month: £178
A mile: £ 0.21
Per day of use: £6.86

Doing 10k miles a year at 25mpg.

(I think i have consciously lied about that MPG figure, its about 20  )

I didn't think mine was too bad, but its gonna cost me in the end, mine was based on me doing 16000 miles a year, tho last year I did 22k in my vecrta. Hoping to get another car so the sport isn't a daily driver then I can get all the work done on her I want withought worrying how I'll get to work.

However as I'm looking for new suspension, service, exhaust, itg filter, zone chip, bbtb ect next year with my new reciepts and mileage (less than 3000) and only weekend usage you can expect my costs too shoot up per mile and per day! Plan to spen around £1500-£2000 on her between this summer and next and take her off the road all winter (unless it snows!).

e30's can be expensive to run if you need a lot of maintenance which they all do at some stage they don't cost a fortune once they are right mine has only needed oil and filter twice in the last 8000 miles and now new wishbone bushes but the cost of getting a sub £1000 car really right is frightening in many cases.

FUEL ECONOMY ON A 325 SHOULD BE 25-30MPG WITH MIXED USE tourings are worse cos heavier and different diff early cars seem to be better on fuel in my experience.
