Hello all....

I'm looking to

Can anyone advise on the best way to insure a car that you are not driving/using?

Reason..... I'm looking to buy a 911 but if I buy it now I will want to put in the garage and tidy it up over a couple of months and only start driving it in May.

Cheers,

Alex

In case it got stolen off the drive or the garage. Will be spending a lot on the car and would be devastaed (emotional and financialy) if it was knicked and not insured.

Could I put it on household insurance?

ok.

you cant insure a motor under household insurance, not to my knowledge anyway, but you can insure under vehicle insurance... just tell them what you plan to do with it and tell them you wont be driving it anywhere until further notice

its like a fire and theft only policy...

no problem! if you then decide to start driving it during it's "laid up" period you just phone them and they adjust the premium on top of what you have paid fro laid up and off you go

They do like to know the milege on the chariot in question also
