hi lads my m8 has a e36 316i and is going to get a chip but he needs to get the ecu number any ideas were the ecu is on the e36 many thanks andy

you'll just f*ck the fuel map right up, and make the engine run really rich, burning loadsa fuel and coking up the engine. then coz he thinks its so fast, he'll drive it to the dogs, blow it up, and wish he'd listened to you in the 1st place

chips are REALLY SH*T idea unless you get a live remap done

tell him not to waste his time and money! and im not even gonna tell you where the DME is, 'coz i dont wanna be responsible for him twatting something up!!

You can actually get a reliable 8hp on this engine from the chip.
The spark advance is minimal on this engine and with 7 degree of advance you get a smoother idle and acceleration with no losses in any department.
