He is a friend of my nieghbour then, nieghbour said he saw my E30 and if I wanted to sell let him know.

The 7 was in great condition!

The writer in the story is of course based on Roald Dahl himself, who drove an e23 for many years and loved it like one of his own children. It sold on eBay about 3 or 4 years ago and was restored and auctioned off for charity..

Official top speed of the 733i was actually 127mph, so that must have been a tweaked one. :wink:

His was a 735i so that may be where the confusion crept in...

..just bought the box set, two episodes in and we've had a S1 XJ6 and a Silver Shadow II as central plot fixtures already, just another 548 episodes to go :D

Apparently it requires fabrication work, it's not like dropping a normal M30 in. Some don't think it's worth while either, see link.

That 745 is sadly scrap, but the engine , if good, is worth that all day long.

I seem to recall that in the book version of this, he was driving a blue E3 3.3 LiA. Could be wrong though.
