Did the E28 come with Chrome Wheel trims as an option?

A local hoarder of BMW tin said he has a set but I can't seem to see any online.

Early cars could be with a full width brushed stainless type hubcap iirc, cough. Povo turds had a dog dish type small hub cap that covered the centre of the wheel :)

I've seen the latter type (Should have said full width!)

On a scale of 1-anthrazite bolster cloth, how hard are they to find? Anyone any pictures?

Me? I'm as well adjusted as they come *twitch* MOTHER!!?

After some fag packet - man Maths the MG isn't such a cheap car. Aftermarket parts for lowering etc are eye watering but a MGB GT Sebring rep with a V8? What a thing!

The wheel trims were only fitted to pre '84 cars with 175 width tyres. The full size ones that cover the whole wheel were mainly 525e and 525i whilst the small ones that covered just the wheel bolts were generally the 518 and 520i.

You and Pete are two too watch! :)

They would make a spiffing winter wheel adornment? I'm still trying to find photos of them fitted, brushed steel isn't as cool as chrome :(

My first E28 had those big trims. She was a Lapis blue 525i manual on a Y plate, bought it for £250 in 1994 with a damaged wing and I got a wing from Euros for £27 and painted it myself. It had already done nearly 200'000 miles and it drove really well apart from a slightly growly gearbox. I replaced the wheels with a set of 14 inch 20 spokes from a 1977 E12 528 I'd just weighed in.

I'm going to be getting 3am Facebook messages about some e28 that's being broken in Bratislava and has the only set of chrome trims in Europe.

Next time you're at work, just check yourself in!
