You're so Alpina, you don't even know it.

When you discuss kiddies names with Frau Dreizehn, I bet 'Burkard' gets mentioned. :D

How low milage M52? It will be M52 tensioner/guides, get it all swapped over inc sprockets/chain if this M52 is proper.

Thats weird it has not got sports seats or comfort for that matter. Never seen that before on a B10.

Ok, well i picked it up earlier today. Well towed it the 2.5 miles home.

I thought i'd get some pictures as its not everyday you get 2 pina wagons like these together with the older car doing the work!

I read the owners hand book and these autos are safe to tow in N upto 43mph and the max distance being 90 miles. So no harm done.

I jumped it and moved it into a famous spot to be the new drive way ornament as the f**ked Z3 is getting lonely.

Image

With a little look around the car while on an excited role!

Image
Pina sill plates!! Theres also lights in the front footwell? an extra? It doesn't have headlamp wash, dog guard, PDC or electric seats. Anything else these could have? luggage nets on the seatbacks are there.

Image
This is a 190,000 mile drivers seat. Montana leather is obviously alot better than standard e36 leather!

Image
Best number for an e36 alpina?

Image
Check the vent guage! love it other side shows gear selected in switchtronic and diff oil temp, all seems to work.

Does it really need super unleaded?! i can get over it

Image
The previous owner saw fit to spend £1500 on a stereo for it, theres a DAB head unit in the front. So its all ready for the switch over!

Image
I've never had an E36 with a service book before! heres also the sample of the montana leather for future repairs if needed. The car has a bmw individual sticker in the engine bay.

The service history is 95% John Clark Tayside and munich legends. I didn't notice the 8 years its spent in scotland :o: opps I think this may have been a demo? As sytners have done the PDI and then first inspection with 6k on it.

Also the log book has a John bernard clark down as the 3rd owner? thats not the guy who owns all the dealers in scotland is it?! or am i chatting sh!t

Image
The messy area

Image
Image
Alpina bodgery!

So i've done it again another car to distract from the 2dr. Anyone want a e36 328i touring for £500?! its on the register and has some leg on it but its a good car!

its MOT'd till april so fingers crossed it might just be fir correct head gasket and off we go. But its cars we are talking so it won't be! The cooling system needs a mega flush oil in it. The heads been welded so it all needs stripping down and a good inspection. it doesn't over heat though now just runs on 3-4-5 pots

I won't know much till we get the head off. Will be great if it can be fixed as i've not thought about the other options!

My 323iSE Touring had front footwell lights - about the only other thing you havent mentioned is whether it has Climate AND an electric sunroof ? Heated seats ?

Nice buy - not seen a vent gauge like that before.

Comp ratio is 10.5:1 so you dont need super unleaded, ive always ran mine on standard juice, just fill with optimax or super when it comes out of hibernation in the spring.

BTW the oil filter housing is straight out of an M3, so you can fit lines and oil cooler as easy as a couple of bolts 8)

JAU is a Nottingham reg, so it's one of Uncle Frank's. Did they convert it, or was it ready built?

Its a buchloe built car with the stamped out BMW vin and alpina one. All RHD production went in house to germany sometime in 1993 so i've read.

it comes up on the dealer system as Alpina import! did a spec check today to see anything new all of the interesting stuff is in german

It looks like it wasn't a demo car, but someone at sytners must of been tooling about in it.

That looks lovely (for an E36 ;) ) At the very least you've bought yourself a comfy summerhouse :)
If the worst comes to the worst, would an S54 be an option?

Is the autobox rad a separate item on this or part of the coolant rad?

its separate. I'll take a picture of it all Looking at realoem and the alpina ETK it would appear its just a normal A/C 328 rad with the expansion tank on the other side.

The condenser for the A/C is toast so that will be where the gas has gone i recon!

Theres been some right f*cking monkeys in there! If they failed to pay for that breather pipe (which is probably about 12 quid) then my moneys on they won#'t have sehelled out for a genuine Alpina Head gasket either!

Keep 'em coming.

I guess the good news is that the more bodgery you find the more likely it is that the fault is something a decent mechanic would have found and fixed.
Doing my best here :) Good luck!
