Had my eye on a e21 323 which has been taken by DVLA as it was not sorn and no mot! the previous owner can't afford to get it back so im still thinking if its worth saving... the storage bill and recovery has come to 550 and they have taken the car to a manchester compound so recovery cost back to me aswel
It has had work done to it mechanically new arms and links, service, but could do with a respray and a general tidy up... Its got 12 previous owners, its black with some sort of staggered bbs style wheels and the front seats have a mesh type of net in the headrests, looks to be sporty, houndstooth interior i think??
What do you think of these cars?
Would it be worth saving?
I know its hard to say without pics, but thats not possible now
Need help to decide quick as its 21 pounds a day storage

Depends how rusty it is...

If they are 15" staggered BBS then they would sell for a lot as it is, the same goes for the interior *IF* they are genuine E21 recaros which I'm not sure they are from the description.

Decent 323i are selling for £2500-£4000 if they really are in good condition.

You will never believe it i got offered it a few month ago and i was in two minds then just left it, I saw one at DC11 show with a 24v lump and i came home following it down the M1 and now seem to want one so Monday morning i went to see the lad who had it only to notice they had moved garage, the hunt was on! i managed to find him yesterday only to be told that dvla had taken it about a week ago  and he cant afford to get it back now...
Wanted 100 squid for the log book and he said i can pay the bill and have the car! so ive got the logbook and keys rang the police to report it stolen thats the only way i could find out where it is?
I was ringing the number crack of dawn but no answer till 9 and when i asked they said that was the first car that was going to get crushed this morning! as its been there 9 days already
So ive managed to put a stop on that until i arrange collection and recovery.
I do need to make my mind up tonight either way

in that case surely you should tke the chance on it after paying the 100 for the log?

At worst you could frag it for bits? or just leave the Porka on hold n Restore the E21 :D

I was thinking of saying that "a friend" told me that it got damaged whilst getting lifted by dvla and want to check it before paying the bill??
do you think that might work? winkeye

E21s break well if they're are morsels on it. The wheels are different from E30. Different offset. They rust like a six series though.

Went to see the guy this morning to ask about rust issues and other info about the car, told him i located it and the charges to get it back. Foooking bum hole wants 200 quid for the log book! or he would rather have it crushed :x :x
Wanted 100 yesterday but now i tracked it down and told him im going for it he said good luck and today this... so out of principle im leaving it now
oh well

So he'd rather get his car crushed and get nothing than get £100?

Bizarre.

I would have thought so, you need to go speak to the people at the recovery yard before you speak to the police

Ive given details to another zoner who was asking about it, so see what happens...
I did see the car about a month ago and i wouldnt say it was a shitter, mechanically was fine, looked quite straight to me, but didnt take much notice to the rust areas as i wasnt interested at that time. I went to a bodyshop to get a quote for a paint job and noticed it there in the corner, the polish painter was the owner who had been sorting it out mechanically before treating it to a paint job which he did'nt get to do as the garage was always busy, quite good painters to be honest the place is always full of top end motors what they work on. As some of you would know your own cars always get left until you get around to it. "After this one" "after this one"
He is a nob for going back on his word, and yeh a skint one! i think he was looking at how much he had in it and how much more it would of cost, then you could probs buy one already in good nick. fook knows
