I put up an advert without having 100 posts and the advert was cancelled so I checked on all the other cancelled adverts (of which there were many) and saw that they had been cancelled for silly reasons such as....too few posts....no 'For Sale' included in the title (which is daft because it's in the For Sale section) , 'Read the Guidelines' and other such nonsense.DanThe wrote:lance1a wrote:I got banned from there because I dared comment on the rediculously strict mods.
What did you say? You wont get banned from here for telling us
My argument wasn't that they had deleted the advert but simply the rude way they went about it. There was no Please or Thankyou in any of the reasons for deletion...just some pedantic muppet who has a God complex.
I then posted a thread saying 'Hitler was alive and well'
with the content reading ' And apparently a moderator on here' and they didn't find it amusing.
I then sent them an email asking them to 'Read MY guidelines and go %*! themselves. So I doubt I'll be welcomed back.

Yes, but it's fun.Simon13 wrote:i'm not surprised with that attitude, you won't get anywhere if you carry on like that.
The moderation over there can be very counter productive. Beemerlad had a really mint black leathee '36 interior, put it up for same and it was almost immediately removed because it was slightly too big - they really are paranoid about that over there.
So someone on there looking for a nice black trim lost out.

i thought it would provoke a miserable response which it did. I actually agree with whats been said but where is the fun in that when theres some old codger like daimlerman/brianmoore to wind up?

Thought I had a victim today but he walked, got a paddy coming for a gander at the weekend maybe.
It got dragged outside and had a bath today, now parked in front of the stately pile.

it should be a decent forum, i just can't seem to want to get involved in it, and there seems to be a lot of bad 'knowledge'
i had to search and read through a huge amount of posts with conflicting opinions and 'fact' to answer a simple question about what front bushes my car should have.
had i been looking for similar information on here i have no doubt i would have found the answer virtually straight away. maybe it's because i dont spend enough time on there to know who's who and who's really knows their stuff

Not a bad forum but the for sale section takes the pish. Non forum based sale section = Fail.

I joined it a while back, i know what you mean about the knowledge. There are basically 3 topics that get spoken about, fitting an m50 manifold to a 328, fitting an m3 exhaust to a 328 and coilovers. I know you guys get irritated by the same old same old being asked time an time again but that place is mental, literally within 5 new threads someone is on the case again with one of these subjects.
Some nice cars on there though and most of the users seem decent enough
