Spec includes LSD, OBC, M-Tech kit, cream cloth interior and Zinnobar(?) red paintwork. I'm chuffed, but it needs a lot of love before it'll be up to scratch!

Ta mate! She was feeling unloved then!inlovewithRWD wrote:It looks pretty good for a car that has been standing for a very long time. It should look stunning when it is finished.
It seems to have been. There's a patch of rust on the inside corner of the passenger door, where the door meets the bottom of the A-pillar. That's about all I can find, and I've got a spare completely rust-free door if I ever decide I can be bothered changing it.inlovewithRWD wrote:Was the barn pretty dry? You think?!Ollie_bwoii wrote:Seriously looking good.
It's actually probably not as bad as it looks. The shell is good, which is the main thing. Only significant rust on the actual structure is a patch where the rear panel joins the wing. Sort that out, (and the a-pillar and battery tray!) and you've got a remarkably rust-free E28 with nice, unfaded Zinnobar paint and a decent engine.gooner1 wrote:Only just spotted this.
Fairplay for at least trying to save it.
Re the carpet, Dye it Black ?.
Don't believe that for a second! It was never MOTed though, so from being registered in Feb '87 that means it must have been off the road from about '92 at least. First owner sold it to a farmer about that time, who eventually sold it to the guy I bought it from. It looks like the farmer never really used it, or certainly never had it MOTed.TheHeap wrote:For 9,000 miles the interior is narf rotten
