Granted though yours does look much better than that E46.

Same here, can't be 'old skool' or 'retro' when I was doing this stuff back in the 80's...

Sorry, you decide to go for the "Rat look" bollocks which is obviously highly controversial, then bit arsey when somebody says it's look shit?Brocky325 wrote:OOOOH tetchy...had a row with the missusJoshy wrote:So you've actually spent time, money and effort to make a shit looking car even more shit?

You can't even take the "It's my car, I'll do what I want" defence. You've said it yourself, you're whoring pictures out on forums to get reactions, so it obviously want I think must be important to you?
By the way, were you a member of trampdrift a while ago? I seem to remember somebody with a very similar name signing up 'showing off' their four pot e36 with a similarly stupid theme. From what I remember, he got laughed off there too!
cant stand the mirrors

Something very appealing to me about a fast car that looks like a shed (to the untrained eye).

F*ck i, bit as I already said I'd also want a bling engine bay, I'd want it to be a complete sleeper to all but the untrained eye!DRIFTBOY wrote:Something very appealing to me about a fast car that looks like a shed (to the untrained eye).

I think that looks great. I saw something similar done to a Niassan Sunny the other day, had a milk churn and an old tv on the roofrack! It's quirky and a welcome break to barry'd up scrap.
It must be the best thing to promote personal road safety too. No one in their right mind will drive too close to you for fear that you may not be insured

As for the "vw t w a t's"...again ,an unfair comment when they can't defend themselves on a BMW forum....and to add , i was doing this "rat stuff" some 20 year's ago when you were probably still in nappies and feeding off your mothers t i t s , allbeit on British tin, so it's not a whole hearted VW exclusive thing
I only do BMW forums , so the geezer on that other drift forum was not i ....i have a straight 6 ..x2

i think it's awesome!
there's something cool about a utterly terrible car
wrongness FTW!
oh, loving the rover abuse though, nobody will complain about ruining a good car if it's only a rover! Me and my bro stripped a J plate rover 214, painted it matt black (£10 worth of rattle cans) and took it to the ring. had an awesome time with it, loads of fun and got more looks and appreciation than the many many porka GT3's parked up there

Well, if it arrived here, 50 quid would change hands and the engine would be out and the rest of it on the back of a Hiab whilst the exhaust manifold was still warm.....
I just don't 'get' driving a car that looks like junk. What kind of statement are you trying to make? And who do you think is admiring the thing? 13 year old kids, dropouts or grown adults with proper jobs?
There was a very sweet Khaki green (gloss) E30 at the Pod this year which was extremely well presented. Not my taste, but well well done nonetheless.

satin black done properly actualy has a clear coat of laquer on it, if you can recall some of the early 90's mercs they had satin door mouldings. even the e30 m3 should have satin finish on the skirts.psychochild187 wrote:ive never seen anything like that before

I am not a big fan of the "try to make it" rat look.
Especially as I don't really care for the concourse crowd.
You should of heard some of the comments I used to get when I drove this to meets.

I drove it around for over 2 years in this condition.
The only reason it was like this was that I didn't have the money to finish it off.
Still not done porperly though.

There's a bare metal VW bus I see every Monday when I go to college. Looks cool, properly stanced, I'll see if i can get a pic next week.
Not in E30s any more
