I cant seem to find out what years the steering wheels were compatible (they are aren't they?)

I have ones of those 38mm tech2 style sport steering wheels on my E30 I'm selling to a mate for a new E34 as a daily run-around (dont worry, still have my project 325i winkeye)

Just curious whether my steering wheel will fit? its a 1991 E34.

Should be fine. I believe the change was made on the facelift cars only of the E34.

HTH
Not sure when the facelift happened or the difference between them.

Isn't it when they got airbag steering wheels that they become incompatible?

Cheers.

I think facelift was 1994/5 on. A 1991 car is well before facelift.

Haha, sorry I meant what did they do to the facelift models. I've seen hundreds of E34s and never any different appart from the M5's.

Wider grill and different bonnet are the big tell tale signs of the facelift, also body coloured sills and bumpers.

I had never noticed any difference, may pay a bit more attention to the odd 5 series when i see one.

Might be getting mine tomorrow, and looking forward to it :)

There's also little changes like if you upgrade the rear map light you'll find it's different connectors on them

And if the car is locked and you go to open the driver door from the inside the doors will unlock then you can open them, on a pre facelift the handle will not unlock the doors.

I think one touch window down doesn't work on a pre-facelift (apart from drivers) - I may be wrong on this?

Another, if the car is locked and you pull the drivers door handle the interior lights come on so you can see if they've left their sat nav or laptop on the seat !!! - Not seen this happen on a pre-facelift
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

Your quite right with most of those mate. Apart from no one touch window opening (on the drivers side). Our Alfa does that.... nice touch

Anyway picked her up today.... lovely car. Needs a good services and a few little bits and bobs to make her sweet!
