Counting down the days, don't think i would be driving an e30 in this weather anyway
It just stopped snowing here about 30 mins ago, must be 4-5 inches of snow

The chap who pitched up in his E46 had MV alloys and believe me he was all over the place. Most of the problem was that he simply couldn't drive in snow.Jon_Bmw wrote:Has yours got MV? wide wheels? Anything with over 195 width in snow is not going to be that great IMO.Morat wrote:Mind you, an E46 is horrific in snow!

I went out in a p reg micra auto earlier and it was great with its skiny 175 tyres. Plent of mercs and BMW's dumped at the side of the road.

I have been out in wifeys E36 328i Sport today, she returned home after 10 minutes in it this morning and refused to drive to work in it. I had to lend her my Volvo V70 to go while I went in the E36.
I had forgotten how much fun driving rwd rightness in snow can be... woo hoo.
Mind you, the E30 stayed home all snugly

I've been out driving about in at all day, it's ace, got panned with snow balls down at Niddrie though so we had to make a swift exit!!lol.
The Transit is great in the snow....

I've never driven in snow before today... Luckilly it was completely mishap free!
Not in E30s any more

We havent had snow in aaages! Oh and those sideways marks by my house - not me i swear! the iS in the carpark at work :

took mine out to the new forest today. Pulled off the carriage way (Rufus Stone exit, the one before Stoney Cross if driving from Southampton) thought 'quality, nice bit of snowy road' bit further around a bend 'shit this is steep, stop car stop!' sliiiiiiide... finally came to a stop to watch a focus in front all over the place trying to make it down. Thought 'hmm not such a good idea this'. Brakes on (thanks **** for ABS), car in reverse just easing it to the biting point, rolled down the hill no problem. Couldn't believe it as the Focus in front made a proper hash of it!
Great fun, recommended to all... if you have ABS! Most of the roads were compacted snow which is bloody slippy

went to work in the 120d (courtesy car)... I think I must be pretty useless at driving in snow or something, but even trying to launch with no revs just by raising the clutch would trip out the traction control... I don't think I touched the accelerator on the way home....
also managed to get stuck at work if it wasn't for a nice guy who helped shove me out of the icy patch I had created... I want my E30 back
