My 525i touring has developed a serious power steering fluid leak today  It appears to be leaking from the pump it's self, but is hard to tell in the dark. I have tried topping it up but it just leaks straight through again when I turn the wheel.

Anyone got any experience of this? could it be the pump or connection hoses?

I'm thinking it's probably the pump as my 325i had the same symptoms last year and the PAS pump it's self was the problem.

If it is the pump wheres the best place to get one?

If your touring has self leveling suspension you will need a pump to match

mine did this, but it was the bearings inside that had died. It wobble all over the shop and eventually went.

there are 2 pas pumps as dan the said.. I think the one you need is made by LUK ( if they are the same as the M60)

Took it to my mechanic yesterday. Its not the pump but the first section of pipe leading from the PAS pump to the self leveling suspension. Have ordered the part from local BMW dealership. Costs £70 though :(
