SCOTT325SE - top bloke in the end !!
Moderator: martauto
ok - thanks. i shall await further response from you. i am going to bed in 20 mins or so so will pick up messages when i get to work tomorrow morning. I am taking the engine down to the garage tomorrow and would love to drop the PAS set up in next monday - i am sure it will be easier / quicker to attach the pump and pipe with the engine out.
ps - any ideas why i cant get the inlet manifold off the old engine (i need to get it off to change the fuel rail and injector wiring as its the older style (1987/8 era). i have undone the twelve bolts on the manifold plus the two ont he bracket above the rocker cover but the bugger wont shift ?? any ideas ?

have you checked the temp sensors arent stopping it from coming off more than a few mm? they can get in the way u see.
attachig the pump isnt a ballache. you can do it engine in if you need to... but hopefully you wont.

i have removed the sensors. the manifold wont budge at all - not even a few mm - its rock solid. almost as if i have missed a nut. i checked i have removed two per cylinder !!! lol. its a mystery - unless its a bad sign and the head is twisted due to stress (ok i know this is unlikely but i have had rotten luk recently so i expect the worst). i spent lots of cash on a brand new head (new casting) when my old one cracked about two months ago. i only had two outings in it and then the bottom end failure in spectacular fashion at croft has buggered the new head. you would not believe what a mess the block / piston is. there is a 4 inch hole through the pistonliner into the water jacket and the piston is just a few balls of mangled metal. crap got sucket through the manifold into every cylinder and damaged the head badly - one of the valves crashed into the head and two rockers snapped. i am not a happy bunny at all !!!
not sure if you have ever seen my car - take a look here www.greenbmw.co.uk. i also have a 325i cab as well !

Glad people are happy with the outcome. I can only appologise some more for being completely shit at sorting things out these last few weeks. Problems and situations are sorted my end now, so there will be no more of this delayed items mallarchy.
Nas, your comments on me are returned to yourself bud! Couldnt have asked for a more sound guy to sort a problem out with.
