The gilmour creates more of a foam, where as the karcher lance creates a blanket. The gilmour is good, but the karcher lance will stay on the surface alot longer, and thus will probably remove more dirt as it drips off.

I did look at the Gilmore but look at the price difference £45 verses £9

I think the outcome will be comparable aswell.

Anyone serious about this though...i would suggest investing in a karcher (£60 B&Q) and £45 on the lance. It'll make a huge difference over any of these that you can buy for normal hose connections.

Bare in mind that the car in question is waxed regularly so it shows up how the foam master (and probably all other hose connection type sprayers) creates good foam (look on the floor to see how much foam was made!), but rinses off quickly...

where as the karcher lance i'm told will stay like the above pics for upto 10 mins!

I'll be purchasing a karcher pressure washer and the lance when my current cheapo pressure washer packs in.

Ok point WELL made, never seen the comperable pics like that. All im looking for is getting some shamoo on the car whilst giving it a rinse before I wash it normally. My car lives in a garage and only does 3,000 miles a year so never gets so dirty it will need the full bore pressure hose, lance, foam treatment.

Saying that Le Mans was muddy last year

To be honest, I just like buying all the gadgets and trying out the new products.

I doubt my dodgy paintwork deserves the amount of attention it gets most of the time.

But basically i can't see how that's going to be any good. Just my opinion.

First attempt. Forgot the camera until near the end of the bottle so not as soapy as it was earlier. Does what I wanted ie get some suds on the car before a normal wash.

What are you using in the sprayer? Do you have a specific foaming detergent, or just normal car wash detergent?

I'll try and get some pics up soon as i've now upgraded to the karcher pressure washer and karcher lance.

It's awesome, and if the cars not too dirty you can clean the car without even touching it! (did this on my brother's 4x4 as couldn't be bothered to scrub the whole thing!)

Just Meguires Shampoo Plus. I have a pump on the gallon bottle which is supposed to deliver 1oz per pump, it didnt look like much so I gave it another hit then mixed with warm water. I wasnt sure how much to use.

1 pump will be enough.

You could also get some Snow Foam, which will produce ALOT more foam than most shampoo's.

5 litres is about £12 so not too expensive, and mixes to a 1-5% ratio, so should last along time!
