How to restore BBS rim and bolts

Dear, Bimmer

I just got old new stock BBS RS 001 it never mounted and never use but the bolt and the lip is black by corrosion, how to restore it?

1.Is it safe to open and change the bolt? may can cause leak? what is proper sealer? etc

2.What is best lacquer to seal the rim surface after I polished the rim?

3.Can I just paint the center wheel without use powder coating and sandblasting?

Being just in the process of doing mine

I separated them have had the centres blasted and then they were primed with etch primer and painted with 2 pack and lacquer..as to not blasting them it depends how good the surface is and is it easier to do this rather than sand it all down by hand...your choice

I used paint rather than powder coating as I wanted to match the body colour..powder coating is more durable.

The rims (dishes), which are stainless , were buffed up, and replaced as per

I would not lacquer the rims if they are stainless as it is easier to keep them clean than to stop the lacquer pealing off

Does Stock BBS rim originaly made from stainless? or alloy?

Those dishes look stainless to me ..but I think the dishes are always stainless but i can't be certain!...of course the rest of the wheel will be alloy

If the dishes are stainless, I will polished it.

But I ever read in the website that the stock dishes are alloy?? and the shop that sell the dishes offer direct replacement dishes made from stainless, I still confuse about it.

But logically why BBS made 3 pieces if all made from alloy?? I think it is stainless.
