I've taken the side skirts of my touring and theres a little bit of surface rust near the jacking points so the question is what should i treat it with and should i just paint over it.

If you really want to treat it you can't go wrong with choccies and flowers.
Although If ou must pop into halfrauds and look for the paint on rust inhibitor stuff, but if the problem goes deeper, cut out and weld in fresh is the best way to go.

dont sand too much off as the treatment needs a little rust left to react.david106 wrote:its looks like its only surface rust at the moment so i will sand it out and treat it

ok sand back to bare metal with aluminum oxide paper, use some k-rust followed by zinc primer followed by primer and then topcoat as required
