i think plastic coating them is very specialist tbh i have seen(on the net) a place in surry that will coat every part of the car body and i think that includes wheels. i think they heat a plastic rubbery film on to the car and im quite sure they do it for wheels too.

With wheels is it ok to put on a paint wax?

If so what else would you put on them?

if you have BBS your ok with nothing. but alpina reps are quite well know for the paint bubbleing up from the back of the spokes to the front. so if you want to be ultra sure you could take the wheels off clean them well and paint silver stone chip(if available) on to the back of the spokes and then use some decent alloy wheel protector on the front followed by some body work wax. im sure that would protect them well.

the whole stone chip piant is very OTT but if you want to be certain do that. otherwise just use wheel protector and some good wax.
