I was told by a local mechanic that I could get my car wax oiled (mixed with diesel underneath). I need to change some brake lines and the exhaust, so should I do that first?

Can anyone give me an idea of the best products and methods of applying this beneath my car?

Cheers

Hi there- sorry, I meant to reply to this yesterday.

I would use a wire brush to remove any loose rust or underseal, then treat any surface rust with a suitable product.

once dry, paont over with hammerite or some such.

For the waxoyl itself, I find putting the tin in hot water for 10 or so mins before use thins it out enough to use (if not, add WHITE SPIRIT)

I just use the sprayer for the can to do most bits, but have a small spray bottle (like the ones used by hairdressers to spray water) for the difficult bits.

2 thin coats is better than 1 thick coat

And I'd do the brake lines beforehand.
