The Maguires wax is ok for me. Silver will never get that deep shine.1an wrote: Paul if you willing to wait a coupel fo days get yourself some chemical guys polish and some dodo juice wax,

it'll be shiny but have no depth.1an wrote:now that is a load of rubbish, silver can get an awesome shine.
Paul,
I use Pro-detailing UK products, they will train you up free of charge, have an awesome selection of products and have incredible knowledge.
I now neither use wax or polish.
Curious ?
See the Zone Trading Post for link or give me a shout in the week after Monday.

you will need a wax or sealant, choice is yours. what works for me is autoglym products, but some people hate them, where as i hate meguires.RichieRagtop wrote:Maybe someone can help me too, recently picked up my car from hacing a full respray and i am bascially scared to put anything on it to polish or wax it, any recommendations
ill have to differ, you can get a silver car to have alot of depth in the paint but as you have said if the paint isnt good in the first palce then you only hide the imperfections.Kos wrote:it'll be shiny but have no depth.1an wrote:now that is a load of rubbish, silver can get an awesome shine.
to be honest if your paints crap, all you ever end up doing is hiding and masking the poor finish, and the wax will give it a shine, however when waxed and sealed you will actually highlight any imperfections which will be visibale on close inspections . this applys to all p[aint finishes and colours, but the colours that hide imperfections well are the silvers and whites and generally any light colour.
My car is waiting if you want to prove him wrong1an wrote:ill have to differ, you can get a silver car to have alot of depth in the paint but as you have said if the paint isnt good in the first palce then you only hide the imperfections.Kos wrote: it'll be shiny but have no depth.

15 years experience and thats my p.o.v.
the 2 best colours to get deep shine and really stand out are striaght black and red, the sport evo colours for exaple. any dark metalics are good, like macau and avus blue but never ever will a silver have the same depth. a metalic grey possibly but to have impact it needs to be strong metalic similar to say negaro or the CSL grey
these days with water based paints, you dont realy get the sparcle and glittery effect celulose paints and base coats have.
for an example of the impact a colour has all you have to do is look at the AMG mercs, they look so dull and flat in silver, where as bmw and audi have some really nice colurs which give their cars impact.
i'm building a car to have impact, and silver as colour was crossed of the list first for these reasons.
