Unfortunatley on sat it was so hot, our roads were literally melting! At a very high speed i went through a huge patch of tar and now its on my rear arch's. I couldnt get any of it of with a wash, is clay bar my next option?

yep, clay bar, and go easy, remember to fold it often so you don't rub it back into the paint

and then you'll need more sealnt/protection where you have clayed as the clay will remove that too

you need to clean and dry the car/panels thoroughly first - but i would recommend using a tar and bug removing wash before getting the clay out..

Autobrite's tar remover is worth a try too. Very good, I used it recently on a silver car which had large lumps of tar on the lower doors.

I think i will go for clay bar, as it is only small patch's of tar. The car was recently waxed, so i really dont want to strip it all off by giving it a bug and tar wash.

I have to buy some new products anyway as my meguiars wash mitt is just falling apart and my meguiars drying towel is a pile of crap!

So what is the best clay bar?
lambs wool wash mitt?
drying towel?
sealant?

Sealant is applied just before you wax your car isnt it? Also, does fairyliquid strip sealant?

cheers
